  • Purchase advice: NA/NB for 3000 euros as a summer and fun vehicle?

Hello dear forum community, One ahead away: An introduction including pictures of my current car and the cars I have driven before is still coming. I also upload a profile picture, which just didn’t work out. I have been driving a VW Golf 7 as a daily car all year round for almost 3 months. I have previously prepared my VW Golf 4 and the following BMW Z4 E85, but in everyday life something like that is simply impractical. The golf was extremely deep and the Z4 was simply not the only car all year round. Now it makes me itch again in my fingers… Now I have come across the Mazda MX5, which combines fun optics with longevity. The MX5 should only run in summer and only as a second fun car, because the golf is used all year round. However, the whole should remain in the financially manageable frame. I like the model NA best. The NC is too expensive, the NB would still be in question and I would prefer a NA because of the iconic optics. I don’t need a window lifter, airbags and climate. The less is in it, the less is broken. Budget is at a maximum of 3000 euros. Since the mileage of the car is apparently not so important also cars with up to 200000 km come into question. Performance best from 100, but also the 90 hp engine would be enough for me. That I don’t get for the money well-kept, top maintained car from 1st hand is clear to me. Nevertheless, the car should be rusty The top should also be tight and last for a while. Since I have a well-known car mechanic, reperatures would not be a big deal, as long as it is nothing big. I looked at a MX5 for almost 6000 Euro a few days ago, purely out of interest. I’m scared! This as a “top maintained” inserted specimen, which the flag dealer around the corner was standing, was optically so finished that I drove again immediately. Paint completely through, dents, scratches, top torn at the sides, interior worn out, several times stained, rear window milky. For such a car I would spend Vll 1000 Euro. Now the question: Can the whole thing be realized for my budget? I do not expect a new car, especially since I have car mechanics and car conditioners in my good circle of acquaintances. Greetings, Stefan

  • Cooling water loss on the front cover of the camshaft

Hello, I would need your swarm intelligence. My vehicle loses water, it collects directly under the front cover of the camshaft. I couldn’t find a damp spot above the lid, so I can rule it out from above. However, in my opinion, no water can come out there. A camshaft is not cooled after all. Since we have been having bad weather for a few days, I don’t want to lie down and unscrew the lid. Have the water cleaned dry and it immediately collected again on the red seal (red pile). What is the “cover” (yellow arrow) where the front cover is screwed on it? Do I have the hope that I did not look correctly and the water came from there. Unfortunately, this only came to my mind afterwards so that I am not sure what is installed there. Is this the cover for the timing belt or control chain? Does cooling water run through at the place? That would probably be a too big construction site for me in the weather. I would like to thank you for your efforts Many greetings Christian

  • W208,W209 – Please info!

Hello, I’m playing with the idea of getting a CLK Coupe. As I saw at the stock exchanges, you can get there for 15000 euros and that’s my price idea. Unfortunately, there are many things that I couldn’t yet classify. The W208 seems to be the “old” CLK, so the one with the separated headlights (i.e. 4 pieces in front) and the W209 is probably the one with the Peanuts headlights (2 pieces in front). The W209 will probably no longer fall into my price range, because it is still too new (when was there the change 208/209?). Vior recently I have seen that there is probably also a diesel version, is there something about it? As was suggested here in the forum, it would be great if there were basic information, the newcomers would probably be very helpful. Anyway, the same questions are usually again and again (did I dig through here also in the forum, but everything can’t be found then). Is the consumption between 10 and 15 liters true? 15 liters are already quite nice N hard. Greetings, Rolf

  • Oh, no, hail damage!

That can’t be true, my beautiful Xceed got hail damage. I finally found a garage parking space at home for 6 months and in Austria it caught me last week 🙁 God’s thanks but only few hits (about 15) and not so strong, so only “smaller” bumps. Next to me a few other vehicles were parked, which looked worse. Old Fiat Berlingo, rather crushed. Mazda 6, also significantly more bumps, VW Touran, also much more bumps. Lucky, or Does Kia have better sheet metal? Processing with insurance is running, I very much hope for good repair with Smart Repair, my 1st hail damage at all, after decades of parking on the road. What are your experiences with Kia vehicles in this regard?

  • New Mazda 6! Cheap Amature Board. I’m shocked.

Today I looked at the new and old Mazda 6. I am totally shocked by this terrible amaturary board. Those who came up with the idea at Mazda should be released immediately. I first got on the side of the car looked and felt. Amaturary board top soft foams back. Hold as it should be. Only negatively much immediately the hard plastic handbrake lever with cast seams in a car with leather equipment. When I entered on the driver side much me immediately on the the amature board top is different. So touched and SCHOCK! Genarbtes Hartplastik! Who comes to the crazy idea to change the material quality of a component. Simply cheap. That’s why the Mazda has now flown out of my wish list.

  • New vehicle problem

Hello community, since there are many people with many experiences here, I hope to get good advice here. I have always driven Mazda until now. From the 626-2,2l , 323F-1,9l to the current problem car 6. I have trusted Mazda quality. Now no more. (Believe me, it’s not easy to remain objective but I’m trying) The problem: I bought a Mazda6 Combi(2,0l Diesel) in March and I brought it to the workshop five weeks ago! The car makes a noise as if the engine or It was there from one day to the other! Nothing unusually done. Only a full tank at ARAL the evening before. The workshop/Mazda still do not know what is broken, and it stretches in length without something new happens. What else can I do? The whole is unreasonable and a poor certificate for MAZDA and its quality! You only have a guarantee on paper, for competent help you can wait at Mazda forever. Except someone knows I’d be very happy about insider tips!

  • Soot particle filter problem solved,185 PS diesel yes or no ??

Hello, I’ve heard a lot of frightening things about the so-called DPF.I actually plan to treat myself to the 185 hp Mazda 6 diesel.Unfortunately, I still haven’t become quite smart, whether the problems of filter addition and cleaning or oil dilution now belong to the past with the Keramic system. Both short and long-distance drivers.Who has his car in everyday life just to beat it every day 50-…. km over the highway. Most of them are short-distance rides. The car doesn’t have to be sold before you drive 30 km. I can’t if I want to eat in my gas station, which is 10 km away only a big detour, only that the DPF is satisfied.

  • Mazda 6 – Diesel loud noises

Hello, this morning I drive as usual with my M6 Diesel Bj. 2003 to work, pick up another colleague and drive on. Both we noticed loud nagging noises from the engine room, which it was quite cold this morning we thought it light at the temperature, further 3 kilometers lights up the oil lamp, the car also does not pull as well as usual. I knew exactly that there is enough oil, the temperature indicator also remains unchanged. Another 4 kilometers the engine goes off and wi r have to let him roll out to the side. He didn’t let himself start either. Well ADAC called and they dragged me directly to my Mazda workshop. The master still couldn’t say anything exactly because he wants to do some tests or examinations first. He just meant that it doesn’t sound good. So I’m still waiting for a damage report. Has one of you ever experienced such a thing yourself?

  • When did you change the ZR on the EA211 (1.2 TSI with 110 hp)

Servus into the Rapid Forum, when looking for the car for my better half, I saw a rapid offer. It’s a 1.2 TSI with 110 hp and EZ in 2015. According to the seller, it can only be the EA211 engine series. Now I read everywhere that these engines have a maintenance-free timing belt. But now butter with the fish, how maintenance-free are they really and when did you change yours? I personally would change the ZR at the price negotiations. a 10 year old belt is actually a big risk. Or is ma actually taught a better thing at the Rapid? Thank you in advance and always good driving

  • Skoda Scala purchase advice place back bench

Hello together, I swan aktuel between a used Octavia Kombi or a Scala. I drive mainly city traffic and country road. I drive highway every 1 to 2 months approx. 1000 km, where I drive on average 130 km/h. Of the 3-cylinder 1.0 engines I am personally not so convinced with longer motorway rides, which is why the 1.5 TSI should become. Currently my search criteria are from 2021, up to 60,000 km. Up to approx. 20.500 Euro. At the Scala there are many offers here, at the Octava I’m still unsure about the place for a later child seat on the back seat. Does anyone know how much less space is on the back bench at the Scala opposite Octavia? Thank you and say hi to Johannes
