Hello, since yesterday I am proud owner of a VOLvo C70. The vehicle has a Momentum equipment with RTI. During the transfer of the vehicle I confirmed that the control element is missing on the steering wheel, although Navi is present. (Figure no.3) Short to the previous history….The vehicle was purchased at a DB branch. Before the purchase complete check was made by the DB branch and then a service was carried out at VOLVO. The Volvo dealer near me confirmed that the control element on the steering wheel must always be present at the RTI, makes sense also, most importantly no control possible (except with the senseless and cumbersome remote control). I have already contacted the DB dealer, but he twitches with the shoulders. Contractually it is stated that the vehicle had no accidents (according to the previous owner). I suspect that the steering wheel/airbag has been exchanged times. Thanks for your opinion in advance robhh

Starter at Volvo, are there better alternatives?
Hello Volvoprofis, yesterday it turned out that my starter is defective. I drive a Volvo V50 2.0d, on the starter stands FoMoCo (so a Ford starter). Unfortunately a well-known problem with Volvo, however, this starter is not at all of stretch and so I assume the Ford has these problems too. Since Volvo dealers charge outrageous 478โฌ net for a small stepper motor (starter). Did I ask directly at Ford times, as they demand for the same component 256โฌ gross. Now I am of the opinion, however, according to various forums, that this starter is scrapped and you might get better from third parties. What is your opinion about this starter, was it possibly improved in the years? or did you have better experience with other manufacturers? Thank you Greeting Philip

XC90 Chiptuning
Hello first of all, the thought of adding an XC90 D5 (185hp) hand switch is maturing more and more in me. But have there again a question, what does it look like with this vehicle with a chip tuning. 1. What did it do with power, PS, torque? 2. What about the fuel consumption? Does this rise? 3. What effect does this have on the insurance and car tax? 4. Which supplier is recommended here? Or have it installed directly by the dealer? 5. Does the Einabu impact on the warranty? 6. How high are the costs for the part + installation? Certainly one or the other has been discussed here in the forum. Have already found different posts. But would be very nice if I could get here again bundled all the info`s. Thanks

Hรค?! “Book an appointment for maintenance” at 9,000 KM driven
Hello together, since this morning I have been shown in the display “Book appointment for maintenance”. Even though I only drove about 9000 km with the car. KM stand is now at just over 48000, the 40,000 inspection was preferred at 39,000 km. I bought the car used in February. Can you tell me what this is about? In advance best thanks for your help and many greetings Sebastian

…Phaeton, …and once again… the “Third”!
Well, there I was on the go, ..and I stayed at the Phaeton. The comfort and long-distance suitability were and are simply not to be surpassed. Besides, the best of all wives….not to be convinced! So I bought a GP3 01/2013 with 14,000km and let again at GAG in Herne. The experiences with the predecessor with 225,000 (!!) trouble-free kilometers ( and meanwhile without problems 255,000 (!!) kilometers with the game mobile 330i on LPG) left me with my mileage performances no other choice, moreover the service and the quality of Mrs Glane is fabulously good. Thanks for a perfect conversion!! Oh yes, I also with the predecessors on long-distance, so possible, far above 200km/h without problems can stop (see also discussion in other Thread). To the vehicle itself: clear further development! Clear, the well-known “disarmaments” are to be noticed, but actually I am satisfied with the rear. Equipment technically he has the “needest” for me, but I did not know how to light up the middle light up! – now – but have to keep quiet.

>60 entries in history – buy or leave
Hello dear community, this week I would like to decide whether to get a Phaeton or not. The equipment is bombastic (20″, ACC, 18 ways, Dynaudio, Rearseat Ent., Long wheelbase, 5 seats, trailer coupling, solar roof, accessories, etc….) RRP ca. 128.000โฌ I drove – all top the defective things will be fixed if I agreed (tore middle console, roof sky dirty, scratch painting, hit rim, etc.) The only thing that currently slows me down is say and write 60 entries in the history at VW. (to pull aid, corrosion several times, brakes, cross handlebars) The car is from 2012 and has 60.000km away… Can someone help me from the forum? Can I buy a sparbuse or is now everything repaired and you have the next 5-7 years of rest? I am very happy about every helpful contribution. Thank you in advance.

Motorway France Battery problem ๐
Just stand at a resting place in the south of France and don’t know what to do. When I stopped, I noticed a strong smell. Open the trunk and find out that the battery (left) is boiling hot and hissing. I also think the liquid has run out. Unfortunately, I had a suitcase in front of the flap and suspect that the heat has stalled. Now I sit here with the whole family and don’t really know what to do. No error message and the voltage is also at 14,1 volts. Can you risk a further drive to the hotel after cooling down the battery about 200 km or better let the ADAC come. They drag me to the next workshop, however, which opens only on Monday. Does anyone have advice for me?

Pear wear
This morning I had to fix “Pos. Luminaires Control” again. That would be: 2 * Fixing the standlight in the back by “knocking on the pear” (want to change it, only once ing again) 2 * Fixed the standlight in the back by changing the bulb (birne was black) 2 * Fixed the brake light in the back by changing the bulb. The car (S60) is Bhj. Oct. 2001 and I drive it since the end of Sep. 2005. Is this wear normal? Before Nissan (Bhj 94) drove and did not have to change a single bulb in 5,5 years. What still bothers me is that if you give a little bit of gas to drive backwaerts etc. the pears light a little darker. If you give n bit more gas they come back to their “normal” luminosity – is that normal?

Problem with the front axle – poltern
I open this thread because there are quite a lot of problems with the front axle. In my case, it is expressed by a rather loud pollination. On cobblestones you can hear it extremely, but even with lower unevenness. Volvo keeps itself covered in this respect and seems to be looking for a cost-effective solution. My workshop does not perform the repair first. A concrete appointment was not mentioned. I would like to hear only the users speak with this deficiency and answer the following questions: Is air suspension available? How exactly does the defect express itself? Was the repair done exactly? Was the repair done successfully? Was the repair done permanently successful? How does the workshop behave?

Inconvenient “comfort” seat
My friend said that I shouldn’t take off my thigh rest. I did that, but it’s a little bit better. It’s not really comfortable. If I take off my thigh rest completely, then I can also feel the crossbar underneath it. What do I do? I weigh 115 kg, so there’s a lot of pressure on the seat. Think about it โ especially because after 5000 km the light brown leather already wears the first delicate grey veil โ to get a padded cover. I’m spoiled by the train โ the last 200.00km of multi-contour seats have been driven with MB air conditioning โ the best seats I’ve ever driven. Am I the only one with this problem? What about other heavyweights and long-distance drivers?
