  • Recommended behaviour in cold weather

Dear experts! The topic “Recommended behaviour in cold weather” according to BA. Here is the question, what in my situation is “most meaningful” for the daily use of the MYP The following starting position/frame conditions: commuting Mon. – Thu. with approx. 25km per route and best case 25-30min. Driving time (approx. 90% motorway) Pitch: CarPort (closed by 3 pages) Descent times variable between 06:45 and 08:30 Winter temperatures: rare under 0 Makes it effective to “preheat” the battery here I can basically do without the comfort of the heated interior, as I am not particularly sensitive to cold. However, this cannot be controlled separately. Speak only battery preheat but not interior. What do the experts think is more efficient for overall consumption. Preheating to ensure maximum range and performance OR without preheating off the road, but to be less efficient and accept a higher consumption. I’m curious! And thank you for your input!

  • End of funding

There is already a very short-term thing today with the end of the funding – had already expected that the funding will be overturned at the end of the year and last week another model Y ordered – paid on Di, received the papers on Friday – on Monday is admission – 10 hours too late for the premium of 4,500 euros – such a political decision cannot be announced on Sa with effect for So – people need a few working days advance, in order to possibly contracts, finance I am curious to see whether there will be a short transitional period on Monday, when the lawyers and ministerial conductors in the Ministry of Economic Affairs will have to implement this legally.

  • Model 3 & Y air conditioning, heating and ventilation

I am disturbed by the rising outside temperatures (in Berlin it’s almost 30 degrees the days) that my MY apparently turns off the air conditioning system for the passenger side every time the passenger seat is not occupied. That wasn’t my 2019 M3. Due to this behavior, the cooling performance is impaired overall, it’s simply too warm in the car. I would have to turn down the temperature dramatically again to make it acceptable. is there a way to prevent the air conditioning from being switched off on the right if the passenger’s seat is not occupied? In other words, can it be set in such a way that it always runs on both sides?

  • Recommendation Winter tires for Gemini rims

Hello everybody! After my MY LR is ready for delivery (beginning of September) a look at the calendar has alerted me. After everything I have found out, the MY comes ex factory with summer tires. I can drive that then still less than 1 month before I should put on winter shoes (O to O). So I am now looking for suitable winter tires for the Gemini rims. Do you happen to have a recommendation? Size should be 255/45R1 9. Can I simply buy a winter tire “indiscriminately” or do I have to pay attention to something (e-car and so on)? In spring I would like to order a set of pretty aluminiums to raise the summer tires. I certainly also have questions about this, but this is not sooooo important now Thanks for every tip and greetings from the south of D! René

  • Diesel car for 500€

Hello first of all to me: I am 18 years young and have my driver’s license a little over 1 year (BF17). Car insurance runs through my father, but I pay everything myself (Azubi). Currently I drive a Golf III 1.9 TDI Variant with 90 HP (taken over by the parents). For this I now look for replacement (due to red badge, too big, taxes quite expensive). I drive in the week 3x 30km to work and 2x 70km to the vocational school (simple ride, thus 460km a week). I think it should continue to be a diesel. Now to my approximate ideas: – max. 500€ Purchase cost – green badge – should be a 4/5 doorr – at best compact car (Limousine) – diesel I leave you in terms of mileage and age. It is planned that I would like to drive the car 5+ years, whereby I should already be finished with the training in the middle/end of next year and therefore I no longer have to drive to the vocational school (but for that to work What I myself have spontaneously considered is the Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi from the year 2006. Can you say something about it and/or give your own suggestions Thank you and LG Dennis14e

  • USB-C port in the center console

Hello, I am very upset about the setting at Tesla, which deliver vehicles different from the order and test drive and then afterwards change the description both in the app as well as on the screen of the vehicle! In the center console there are 2 USB-C connectors, which were originally designed for loading as well as for playing music (audio files). During the delivery time Tesla however has deleted the audio functionality without any compensation. however, was important to me and is it not possible to compensate with a USB hub in the glove compartment, as Tesla now suggests. Question: are the audio connections still running on the US models or on new MY from Grünheide? Thank you

  • Second training as a car mechatronics engineer?

Hello together In the summer of 2018 I completed my apprenticeship as a polymechanic EFZ. Since September 2018 I have also been a permanent employee and now work for half a year on the job. I live in Switzerland. I like the job, because I am very interested in technology and I always liked to be a craftsman. Back in the 9th grade I actually wanted to become an automotive mechatronics engineer. I also sniffed both professions at the same time. Unfortunately, I had a bit of a penance with the applications, wes Because of many apprenticeships I was already occupied. So I still came to my apprenticeship. Since I am very interested in the profession of automotive mechatronics technician and I really like to screw, it still tempts me to do this apprenticeship. However, I still have to do civilian service and thus the apprenticeship start would be possible at the earliest 2021. Then I am 23 years old. As far as I know, it would also be possible to shorten the apprenticeship because I already have an EFZ. I think, because of my initial training, My question is now, would you advise me not to do so or not? During the teaching I could also live at home, my father retires in one year and my mother works for a few years. I have no claim to higher wages. That’s why I have to stay at home. Anyway, I wanted to hear different opinions, perhaps from people who have also made a second teaching. I am aware that in two years’ time it will be possible to learn a second lesson. But the motivation and interest in the profession have never left me. As I said, I wanted to hear your opinion. Thank you already in advance!

  • Is carbon going to replace aluminum?

Hello, this thread is to be used as a discussion and exchange of ideas. Do you think that carbon will replace aluminium and steel as the primary material for the bodies in the medium to distant future? In small series with small volumes this is already common and give to build the body in the form of a carbon monocoque, but I wonder if manufacturers in the high-priced wholesaler (think here of S-Class 7s, 911er etc.) will use this technology. Carbon has how all-rounder emein known clear advantages in terms of weight and stiffness, so it covers exactly the topics that car manufacturers are looking for everywhere nowadays. It would also be a very good balance of the weight gain of the cars by more and more technology. What do you think, we see in the future luxury limousines or expensive coupes with a carbon fiber monocoque advanced? LG

  • Moderators and their rules of play…

V&S Rules of the Game, among others: “It is discussed factually about the topic opened by the threader. Who has nothing objective to contribute, leaves the fingers off the keyboard! Off-topic and spam contributions are deleted without comment, and who continues to post nonsense despite better knowledge risks a 36h lock or ultimately the banishment. This applies especially to „I’m getting popcorn!!” Moderator posts in the forum (public): “And what has this senseless waste of space? with the actual topic? Nix…” User (me) explains to the mod that the posting has to do with the topic in detail, and if he doesn’t care, he can ignore the posting after all (somewhat pointedly formulated, but after the public, personal attack – and OT – quite appropriate). And what does the mod do: “And I like to explain to you again the rules of the V&S, which are pinned at the top. However, this will not run over a PN, but quite simply and inconspicuously over a little break of 36h for your account.” …public, in the forum. I quote the game rule again: “It is objectively discussed about the topic opened by the threader. Who has nothing objective to contribute, leaves the fingers off the keyboard!” Two complete and comprehensive rule violations by the MOD – ZACK – the user should be blocked. That’s how it should work? Do the rules apply to the mod, or not? Or are MODs authorized, in case of personal non-failure a posting to publicly attack users (“senseless waste of storage space”, factually incorrect (would have nothing to do with the subject), and if the user refuses to block the user?
