For all who are interested: There should be something new about Phaeton again: http://www.auto-medienportal.net/article/detail/18328/ Please check it out, but I haven’t checked what is really new about it yet. At first glance, only the compilation of the options as a package is new. But I still found the information worth mentioning, because otherwise we don’t have much new to tell about Phaeton.

Kilometer display on display
Hello, have a Phaeton built in 2003 with the mileage standing on a stand and always appears in alternation with the display Error. Thought first that the error appears due to the error display of the tire pressure sensors. But that is apparently another construction site. Now I have the problem that the display remains on a stand and I can not access the mileage with a diagnostic device. Did someone like the communication between driving performance and display occur and which control unit supervises this task? Hope that I do not have to replace the whole amature display. According to VW, the car had always been with the same km status during the inspection since 11.2011. They had already developed the dashboard and used it again. Now I don’t know if the previous owner has tried to change the stand (car comes from Luxenburg) and made a mistake. Had already thought of driving over the border and looking for someone at the KM stands. Maybe he can intervene deeper into the software. I would be grateful for a tip.

Recommendation Exhaustpot: Which one?/Where to buy?
Hello people I need your help regarding an exhaust pot for my 99`Tahoe! Short history: I built a very simple (it was really a mistake) new exhaust pot under it. After the exhaust pot still has to have an arc over the axle and then a piece until the end of the vehicle. When I installed the pot, I then drove around for a while only so that the entire exhaust pipe (exhaust pipe) stopped exactly above the axle. There was also the sound still OK! I don’t want it too loud and disturbing, but pleasantly roaring. But since I can’t drive around so much time, I still had to extend the exhaust pipe until the end of the Tahoe. The problem that I have now is that almost the whole sound has disappeared!!! It almost sounds like I didn’t even have a new pot built in, but left everything original? That’s very annoying! Question: Since I’ve made a very simple universal pot under it, I could help without a problem to change this with a good exhaust pipe!!!

Connecting guarantee or better not?
Dear people, a few months ago I bought a 1.5 year old 997 and is just about to decide whether I should extend the factory guarantee for another year or not. Would you like to hear your expert opinion / experience about it! How high is the vulnerability to damage in the 3rd year (car has about 25 tkm) according to your experience? Does a (continuously) extended new car guarantee have a positive effect on resurfacing (e.g. in 2 years)? Would you be very grateful for every thought!

Porsche 911 964.. Durability, performance, service life etc etc
Hello, I would like to get a good old air-cooled 911er soon… I like a 964er optically very well now I have some “beginners” questions about this vehicle! What must be paid special attention to? In how far are the car suitable for everyday use and stable? Which 964er is recommended the C2 or the C4 with four-wheel or without?! Did they have standard closed HA Diffs? And there is something like a flap-nauspuff system, known from the 996, respectively the 911/964er also have such a breathtaking boxer sound as you know from 996er with open flap system?!!! (n sound video would be nice!!) And how is it comparable with the performance with a BMW M3 E36? 0-100 and vmax?!? Thank you and always good ride!!

911 Turbo
Good evening, yesterday I drove with a friend the 911 Turbo Probe. A dream of car, fun without ending. Even from 200 km/h it ignites again like a rocket. Fuel consumption over 20 liters. After a long time the friend decided for the 911 4s with performance increase. Reasons for this are, long waiting times for the turbo and no everyday car. Who has experience with the 911 4s and performance increase. Is this decision by my friend to understand?? Please for honest opinions. Thanks from the Frankenland

Cause of consumption
Data: Volvo C30 (the small so, 2-door) Diesel 2.0 D Km-Stand: just over 100,000 Hello, I’m not sure if the consumption of 7 liters in winter is normal for a diesel. I think it’s a bit too high, even if the month for the small car is quite large (2 liters of motor). But “questions costs nothing” and maybe you have an idea how I could reduce the consumption a little bit. Well, I’m one of the tussies that drives “wildly”, i.e.: fast journeys, high speed I also don’t drive long distances every day, until work is 15km (simple). On weekend times highway routes to blow the turbocharger “freely” ;-). When I bought the car 2 years ago, the average consumption was 4.7 liters. And that in winter, say: in January. And in the Allgäu it’s not really cold in winter – in contrast to my region, I’ve got a change of oil regularly (for a diesel, but still: more often than recommended oil change with best oil), I wouldn’t have a change of fuel. And I don’t know how to change of fuel.

Higher fuel consumption by new spark plugs ???
Hello, I did an inspection at Volvo before about 400 KM in the frame of which also the spark plugs and the air filter were replaced. According to the invoice / part number these spark plugs were used:http://www.skandix.de/…/ 1015972 or 31272427 After now about 400 driven KM I notice that the fuel consumption has increased enormously, without my driving profile or driving style had changed. I record the consumption since about 85,000 KM ( Spritmonitor ). On the winter tires it can not be lying, they have been on it since October. There were no full gas drives, the car was not driven loaded in this time. Since one month I consume about 1.5 liters more, because I only drive 7 KM simply to work and therefore put off the car, if it has just become warm. Earlier, when I drove only long distance was the consumption at 6,7 liters. Because of the shorter distance and the cold season the consumption can be already about 8 liters. I have 2 pictures attached to it, but it would be nice to see the mixture, but it is wrong to see the fuel?

How safe is laminated glass?
Hello As I know, more and more new cars with laminated glass (with V70 and Co. now also in combination with tinted windows) are ordered in the side windows. These have the advantage that they lower the noise level in the vehicle and make it difficult to steal valuables from the car. Great, but… I have been thinking about such a scenario. What if, for example, the doors are clamped by a collision? Often, one can be rescued or recovered through the side window. However, the rescue from the side window can be greatly complicated by a laminated glass (especially when it comes to minutes). Does Volvo develop a mechanism for this case? As in trains, for example, where the rubber joint can be pulled out all around the window. (The front or heel disk) What do you think? What is the relationship between the safety of the valuables and the evacuation of the occupants from the car?
