  • Double domes / intermediate gas

Hello to the gear experts, I’m dealing with the topic of intermediate gas and I really want to learn it. I found out that the technology goes as follows when switching down: 1.) Coupling step out 2.) Gang out 3.) Coupling come out 4.) Gas shock 5.) Coupling step in 6.) Gang in 7.) Put some gas on 8.) Coupling come What I don’t understand is what step 3 is necessary, or what exactly happens there? Wouldn’t it be enough to do the whole thing like this: 1.) Coupling step n 2.) Get out the gear 3.) Gas shock 4.) Get in the gear 5.) Let the clutch come What effect did the clutch bring? Who can explain it to me in an understandable way? Thanks already. LG Tigran

  • Automatic newcomer needs advice

Hello! Since yesterday I can call my first automatic car my own I have a question. More precisely I have a Qtronic transmission. If I now stand at a red traffic light, you switch to N (just like at the switch to spare the rear position) or can you stay on D? If I stay on D it easily vibrates in the car, you notice that it wants to drive away but is braked. What is more harmful now, the “braking” of the transmission or the additional switching organ g from D to N and back again? And still a little bit hot, how long does the gearbox take to become “warm”? I drive about 40km of easy route daily, 35 of which are motorways and the first and last 5km 100km/h speed limit (city highway). Since I try to speed up to 100 as slowly as possible and only after that I drive 130-140km/h. Right so? mfg, emyr

  • Purchase advice Espace as 2nd car

Good morning, At the moment I own a Fabia Combi and often fight with the place. We have a son (9 months) who is still sitting in the car seat and this (a reboarder) also needs his place. The trunk is also not exactly the biggest. If my wife is on the road with the little one it just goes out (car Teutonia) however more often on weekends to your parents and also take some with me. Now I am looking for a used Espace I don’t know what I want to spend on the second car, but that’s all I have at the moment. On the internet there are a lot of models at this price but I really don’t know which one to look at 🙁 3.0 , 2.2 , 1.9, 2.0 Would be happy if you could help me a little bit more. Thank you !!!

  • Escort ’92 indicator

Heyho, I’m new, and the car, which now stands at my door “also”. So history: I live in Kassel and bought myself a Ford Escort with EZ ’92 in Fulda. In the TÜV report you can see that he had problems with the turn signal, but they were fixed. Also during the test drive everything went supi. Now I picked it up today, drove home and on the highway then the turn signaler went no more and you heard an easy “surrender” (if you can say so O.o). But if I the other lights all go.. can I test it again for the sake of necessity 😛 I called the seller (He has a workshop) and he said I should unscrew the cover under the steering wheel, but there I see nothing… and with the safety box in the slot, where the safety for the turn signals should be I can also not recognize any mistake.. Does one of you have an idea, what this is about and whether I can do this as an escort newcomer there myself something Or should you rather go to the workshop with it? Greetings

  • Escort – Start

Hello. My escort makes funny noises when I want to start it. So funny, don’t know how to describe it. Anyway, when it’s cold he makes this funny noise when starting it but as soon as it’s warm or it’s hot outside he doesn’t make it around again. My cousin meant that it’s the starter and that it should be exchanged, but before I do that I’d rather be smart here. The funny thing is, when it’s cold he makes the noise And if it’s warm it’s not oô. What I still have to say is that the car has been standing around for almost 1 year and is under construction (will be restored by A-Z). The car is started as good as every day so that the engine doesn’t get stuck and will run for up to 30 minutes. Since I’m almost finished with the restoration I want to soon take it to the Tüv but I don’t know now if there can be again at the Tüv theater?! Ohso and the car has to the 91,000 KM e 97. Greetings, Dennis

  • Escort Bj. 94 Rear fog lamp and hand brake

Hello all together, every two years again the Tüv. This time there are two things on it next to the crossbars where I really have problems with. Car: Ford Escort Cabrio type ALL 1.6 liters BJ. 94 1. Fog rear light: Does not light. Lights on the switch works. Bulb does not change anything! Safety changes nothing! Mass point controls nothing! Bridge on the ECB looks at me everything okay! Someone still a clue if there is another relay or something that can break? S It can only be the cable, can it be? 2. Handbrake: Two years ago, the rear brake system was made almost completly new (brake cylinder/brake hoses/brake linings all new) Footbrake was then and today in equilibrium. Only the handbrake was not exactly ok two years ago but in tolerance. This time, however, it was far more than 50% off. On the right, there is actually nothing at all. However, according to my clever book, she should adjust herself. So it can be hi but I had already looked at these two years ago and they were all ok and I cleaned them too. Under the car there are two plastic nuts behind the middle silencer you can adjust something there? Someone can tell me something about it. MFG Alex

  • Engine speed breaks with light gas enter briefly

Hello guys, I have a question? it’s about my Benziener Audi 1.8 , B4 avant Bj.1994 (in case of engine stationary gas in order): when I then give a light gas, the speed breaks briefly (but then rises again quite normally high). I noticed that when the gas tilt lever on the injection system, rotate after a few mm, one hears a quiet click; and that’s the moment when the speed breaks briefly (but then to turn normally high again). If I stay exactly at the place d If I keep going, the engine turns normally high, but also when I’m driving, that I have the drop-out after giving gas, and the engine sometimes runs out completely. What could be the cause of this?

  • Oil Change Automatic Gearbox – When necessary?

Hello, I just read that you should change the oil regularly with the automatic transmission. I read something of 60,000 km. I have been on the road with the car since maybe 90,000 km and wanted to ask, what you notice is that the oil is “due”. Sometimes “skin” my the corridors already very noticeable pure. Never bothered me… seems almost sporty 😀 Would this change now, however, if the car is dry inside again. Water runs on the driver’s left side at the disguise G down in the footroom when it rains. Would be a bit embarrassing to put the car in the workshop like this. So there is always a heater in it now. Makes warm, snow-free and hopefully also dry. Maybe someone else can tell me what to calculate for the oil change? Vehicle data is in the signature. Thanks

  • Strange behavior of the clutch..?

Moin, when I was just driving home, my clutch pedal allowed itself to be passed on about half the distance (everything was warm up until then, everything was normal) when switching suddenly extremely lightly, but gear went in nevertheless as if sounded slightly, and let the pedal come back, I first thought, it hangs in front, but then came back, only somewhat hesitantly… Thought already, clutch-over/or-taker cylinders were gone, but also in the next careful switching process there was no Probl em, gear was easy to put in, no noises or anything else, but since then the clutch pedal can be passed through extremely easily, and the grinding point has wandered backwards… I then arrived at home once gugged: Stop and start the first gear and go on smoothly, so coupling is reliable. Then I tried whether it slipped through, put in 3rd gear, tightened hand brake firmly, and let it come slowly. Just before the end it strangled the engine. .. So in itself everything works, only that the pedal is smoother when pressing in viiiieeel, and when coupling the grinding point is a ticker further behind, and the pedal pushes back itself with a little less force… Feels somehow a bit strange… In addition, I have a very easy vibrating or similar on the clutch pedal (feeling very easy at the foot), that was not there before, or at least not so pronounced, d if I had noticed it… So it actually points to a capped donor or taker cylinder, but since the clutch is doing its job itself, can it not be? Is it possible that there is an air bubble or the like in the system, which has now moved to a place that this strange behavior occurs? Do I really have no idea, and in the search I have come across only a donor or taker cylinder… Can anyone help me? Auto is my 1990s Type89 Cou pe Quattro with the NG engine… mfg Andi

  • RAV4 Hybrid – dark serial rim

Hello dear community, I have the following problem. Next year I plan to purchase a new RAV4 Hybrid AWD. While browsing the net I have seen that the car is delivered in other countries (e.g. Austria, Poland but also USA) with dark 18-inch serial rims, not in Germany. Now my question… Does any of you have any idea how to get to these wheels, as it would probably not be possible according to Toyota dealer and Toyota customer service. Many greetings from the Wolfsregion (Lausi) ts??) Olaf
