  • Steering wheel change to AMG with paddle (shift paddle)

    Hello I bought and replaced an SL 500 R230 Built 09/2004 with 7G transmission and me an AMG steering wheel with shift paddles. My old steering wheel was heated.It went a cable from the dashboard to the steering wheel behind the airbag where a small box sits. From the box run the cables into the steering wheelheitzung … that was the old stand. Now I mounted the AMG steering wheel and had to notice that the cables from the shift paddles do not fit into the small box, so I researched.. the d I could now weave it from an accident SL 55 and would like to build it up next week. my question does that work at all? Is the supply line to the box also for the seesaws to use so a bus cable or just a power supply? Did anyone ever try this? would be great if someone could help me further

  • SL300 / 129 – New fabric roof

    Our SL 300 from 11/1992 with only approx. 84.000 km has a perfectly working fabric roof, which is also good with regard to the fabric – in which however the rear two side small Kunsstoffdisks and also the Kunsstoffrückscheibe at the kink place has small cracks. With well adhered black and transparent Tesa I closed the cracks, which also the superficial optics does not completely break down. However, this should not remain a permanent solution. a question: Does anyone have experience with a new fabric roof for this year of construction ? Exchange only the rear damaged part or the whole roof ? Cost ? Have made with DB or elsewhere ? U.a.m. I am grateful for any hint.

  • Refueling: Only with a pump on the right, or sometimes on the left?

    Hello together, many people put your vehicle when refueling always so that the pump is at the same side as the tank cover (with German cars as well as the SL this is usually right, with Japanese m.W. mostly left). Since usually to the right of the pump is rather space, I often also place myself there and lead the pump gun with hose then just over the trunk around to the tank cover. Usually this is also no problem as long as the hose pulls out How do you handle this? On this subject, I thought of a question to the pump guns technicians: Is the sensor, which provides for the automatic shut-off, not at the bottom of the regular gun and when it is turned into the tank sockets (if you are just right of the pump) rather above, so that the gun should then switch off later and the tank should become fuller. If, depending on the tank geometry, the tank is still in width at the level of the filler nozzle and not only the nozzle comes out at the top? This would perhaps explain steady deviations between the on-board computer display and the calculated consumption in part.

    Hello! Have a SL 320 R 6 BJ 96 with not even 47500 km. Now I had to wait a few days with the car with running engine 8 minutes before the gas station. Since then always the yellow lamp goes on that lacks cooling water. I then refilled the cooling water level and after a short ride again about 25% of the cooling water content is missing. I then refilled again and now the same amount is missing again, where it will then no longer be less. What can be the reason for this and what to do? Thank you for your help.     Moin, I’m thinking about the equipment of my future service car. Since I’m going to cover distances of 160 km and more every week and the wallbox question is still unclear (the e-distributor is on the other side of the house, i.e. I would have to pass through the garden under the terrace through and once through the entire basement to let a cable from the parking space to the safety box) it should be already the 80s version. In the end, I am faced with the question of either infotainment basic or airbags at the rear, to configure sports chassis and luggage net partition. Now I thought that infotainment is only software, the other option against hardware. If it were possible to add infotainment later as an upgrade to my own account, I would be fine with it. . To order extras on budget on your own account, unfortunately, our fleet does not participate. I could then first see if I need it at all (in the burner I would do without it unnoticed, because I have a TomTom with real-time navigation, but for example charging stations is TomTom doof) and if necessary order it. Does someone know something about whether such a thing is possible / planned, especially with regard to leasing vehicles? Would for Skoda certainly not be a bad business model, because they digitally e Extras could sell to the next owner again. If someone knows something to do with it, I am happy about every enlightenment. I have to do without the currenter and drive another 3 years diesel.

    I’m just ordering the ENYAQ IV 80x. One thing I’d like to claim is your help. Standard are the 8J x 19″ “PROTEUS” light alloy wheels. I was advised to take the 20″ “VEGA” light alloy wheels, silver. My car is Brilliant Silver, Metallic. Now the question: What is the advantage of the 20″ wheels? Is this purely optical or is there any technical differences in driving behaviour?

  • SKODA Enyaq – rear drive also suitable for mountain rides or instead of four-wheel drive?

    Hello, I’m just thinking about buying the new Skoda Enyaq. But that’s an essential question for me. I have an all-wheel drive at the moment, because I live on a mountain and I often travel on mountain/forest roads on a professional basis. In winter I also often travel on snow tracks. The Enyaq has a rear drive. Is there any experience how the car is suitable for such driving conditions or should I rather wait for the four-wheel drive? h on your feedback. LG, Alex

  • Div. Tech questions about Enyaq Coupe: CarPlay, smartphone app, integration into SmartHome etc.

    Moin together, I am, also professionally, a tech-loving child and I would like to understand a little better now how an iPhone can be used with the Enyaq RS Coupe (i.e. Softarestand >3.0). Unfortunately, my Skoda comes only next year. I am particularly interested in Apple CarPlay in conjunction with the technology around car? I have a few restrictions to my current vehicle, which always bother me and I would like to understand how Skoda the Unfortunately, I haven’t driven a Skoda or a current VAG vehicle for 20 years and therefore I’m pretty clear about the current state of the art here. 1) I connected an iPhone to CarPlay and active a route guide in CarPlay (e.g. with maps, Google Maps or so) I can’t start an additional route tour with the vehiclenavi at the moment. This ends the route tour in CarPlay and vice versa. Is that the same in Enyaq? 2) Do I have an iPhone with CarPlay ver I can’t connect another phone via BT to my current one, because CarPlay blocks the BT cut point. Is this also the case in Enyaq? 3) I play music via CarPlay, e.g. with Spotify, and title and cover information are displayed in the vehicle – I just assume that this is also the case in Enyaq. 4) I don’t assume, however, that in Enyaq with active route guidance in CarPlay the navigation instructions (e.g.: turn off) are also displayed in the HUD – that’s what I have 5) I have integrated my current vehicle into my home automation via app and the API used (with Home Assistant), there is also an integration that provides various values of the faghrzeug continuously (alarm system, range, battery level, rides etc.) For Skoda there seems to be something similar (here) – someone has this running and can tell a little bit about it or possibly share some images of the integration. 6) Is there such a thing as additional apps that can be installed on the Enyaq system? In my current Volvo there are a handful of more or less meaningful apps that can be installed afterwards, in Volvo’s newer models based on Android Automotive there is even access to the Play Store – there you can download and use e.g. media apps or alternative Navi apps (ABRP!). I found nothing like that at Skoda, is that correct?
