  • Find tips for my wife’s second motorcycle (cautious: long)

Heya, I have to open one of the unspeakable “I need a bike tip” threads now. Sorry in advance I know there are a lot of threads, but usually for beginners who are looking for a strong/fast machine for heating. The background is this: My wife drives a Kawasaki W800 and loves the bike hot and intimate. It is always registered for the season from March to October and is standing outside (cover, no garage). It definitely doesn’t want to replace it, because it’s just her dream bike. Accordingly, her dedication to cleaning, polishing, etc. is also strongly pronounced, when it has unexpectedly rained overnight or we had rain rides. It breaks her heart when she passes by the bike and it looks dirty/dry. She also drove the machine from time to time on the 20 km work path, but does not want that anymore – for everyday rides the W800 is too bad for her, si e she prefers to ride on the common tours. So now she is looking for an additional motorcycle, which she wants to register all year round. Primary it should drive the work path daily and possibly replace the W800, if we have to start with a view of rain or if she has to take more luggage with her. So it should be a motorcycle, which does not do too much work while cleaning or does not hurt her, if it does not shine – quasi a work animal. Therefore I thought that maybe a motorcycle with K ardan would be chic in order to also eliminate the chain care. (“gerne” = would be nice, but doesn’t have to) I just looked at mobile.de with the ideas (largest filter was about Kardan and price) and there are the following models, which could somehow still agree to it in the farthest possible way. But everything is rather the naked than the semi-clad versions. I have not yet looked at everything for the seat height or in the ergonomic simulator and it is also partly d – Is there something you would say: Yes, that is reliable and low maintenance and corresponds to the requirements? – Most of them are machines from the 80s, but there are many well maintained offers, where all possible maintenance work/repairs are listed. However, they usually have 40t to 90t km. Is this still worth considering or are there very expensive repairs for certain models, which are known to be necessary – Is the idea with Kardan possibly nonsense, because Kardan directly increases the weight and a chain to grease is not a real problem? – Do you have other suggestions and why? Thank you for reading up here 🙂

  • Dunlop/Conti – why so big differences between EU labels and tyre tests?

Hello, a question in the round: For the next Seat Ibiza my partner will be ordered new winter bikes in the next weeks. After studying the relevant tire tests I only took the two best class (185/60 R15) into the short choice – Conti Winter Contact TS 850 and Dunlop Winter Response 2. What makes me ponder – where do you think the at least partially contradictory “reviews” from the EU label and the usual tire tests come from ( ADAC, etc.)? I put together… *************************** Conti EU label: – rolling resistance/fuel consumption class E, wet grip class C, external rolling noise 71 dB ADAC tyre test (similar to other tyre test): – fuel consumption grade 1.8; wet rating 1.9; noise rating 2.8 ******************************************************* Dunlop EU label: – rolling resistance/fuel consumption class C, wet grip class B, external rolling noise 67 dB ADAC tyre test: – fuel consumption Note 1,5; wet note 1,9; noise note 3,1 ******************************* According to the EU label the Dunlop looks much better in the tested categories – the corresponding values in the tyre tests do not indicate this (clearly)… Conclusion: Who can be trusted here more?

  • Airhawk, Beaded Seat, Gel Cushion and Co.

I have just read an Arikel about different seat “Stands”. It was about products like the Airhawk, pearl mats and gel cushions. Who has such a edition and what is your opinion about it. I was happy to sit a bit more comfortably on longer tours. A Corbin seat for my RF900 costs 500€ but, and although the measure should be all things, this is simply too much money, so I am interested in alternative. Have you possibly had your seat re-upholstered if yes, where we d what did it cost and not more important how it sits after processing. Greeting Jason

  • Sprinter 216 CDI engine damage

Good evening dear people, I am more on the road in the Touran, T5 and G6 forum but hope from you professionals help and advice. We have a small company that has specialized in airport transfer, sick and dialysis drives. Have in our fleet several Tourans, T5 ́s and also a Sprinter. Up until about half a year ago a 213 CDi from 2002 which has had a relatively problemless development of its 650,000 km. In average our cars are moved 100 tkm per car. This sprinter was sent into retirement and we decided for the current Sprinter due to the good experiences made. A 216 CDI BlueEfficiency of 04/2014 was delivered. He was ordered as a taxi because we own a license. Now he ran until the end of 11/2014 until he remained at 55 ́000 km with oil loss. He was introduced and one found quite quickly that the control chain has skipped and thus an oil exit was found -> diagnosis of the factory saddle AT M to cost from MB. Now it is so that for more than 4 weeks on the part of MB nothing does. As a rental car there was a Vito with which we can’t do anything, because the Sprinter is a taxi. Last status 3 days ago was the one that the engine is no longer produced due to the frequency of problems. What now with ours nobody could tell us yet, they probably work on it. I hope now especially from the commercial vehicle technicians among you if I can find out similar in your MB workshops I’m sorry for the many texts, a good slide into 2015 and I’m sorry, but I’m sorry, but I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but I’m sorry.

  • Towing coupling – different bucks for 903

Hello together! Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the box and the box (316 CDI, W903) in the photos of the trailer coupling? So the AHK of a box also fits the box/bus? I have tried both the search here and also various search engines of the Internet, but was unfortunately not found. Except that I am even more confused now, since there are obviously different photos for the boxes alone (pictures at various dealer page) n). I thank you already in advance!

  • Sprinter 316 cdi bj.2003 glows despite new pre-glow control unit and does not pre-glow

Hello together, I have a big problem with the 316 ner. All glowing candles and pre-glow control unit were replaced. It went well also 3 weeks until the pre-glow glasses are again perament on the light and no more pre-glow. It was driven for a longer time so ( sprung after about 10 times org) and quickly caught up with the speed in the stand. At temperatures around the freeze point is no longer thinking that it starts. According to the diagnostic device: -cylinder 1 “glow candle failed” -cylinder 2 “glow candle out of the ordinary” -cylinder 3 “glow candle out of the ordinary” -cylinder 4 “glow candle out of the ordinary” -cylinder 5 “glow candle out of the ordinary” I have now measured everything for cable breakage and voltage: -the big plug with the 5 cables pulled off and up to glow candles plug measured everything OK -glow candles at short notice checked everything OK -external a thin cable with 12v on the plug to the glowers held on (jewils a contact of the 5 pole plug)thin cable quickly became hot, so glow candles out close. -Dick red cable on the pre-glow control unit has 12v -The small plug(anstürung)brown has minus and the red/black fluctuates between 3,5,8,10 volts around. That should be the can-bus cable or???? I hit my ears so hard on Sunday and can’t get any further. I hope you can help me further and maybe a motor talker was just in front of the same problem. Thank you in advance Gruss Andre

  • Restoration Rex 50 Silverstrett 2 tak he

Hello people, I’m restoring just a 20 year old scooter Rex 50 for my son. ( 3.800 km, 16 years barn) apart from that he was hairdressed and I rebuild him (belts 747 instead of 669, air filter) Do I have problems with the e starter. – battery new – starter new – with kickstarter he jumps immediately – starter free run cleaned. Question: the needle bearing looks good, can it be that it hangs anyway? Is this actually greased or not? I didn’t have there What I had found are that some washers come here and there, but have no explosion drawing. Therefore I don’t know where they might go. Maybe a missing one and that’s why it turns slowly The freewheel outside is in plastic, is clean, but can the wear out? Should I make new? Thanks for info

  • Circular Galactica 2.0 50 DD jerks/stutters while driving.

Hello together, I bought a scooter mentioned above cheaply. At the beginning I did the usual maintenance (oil, candle, carburetor cleaned, air filter new, all gasoline and air pipes new) After that everything was still fine, was super satisfied with the scooter. But then at once he makes mute. To shop, still everything is fine. Come out of the shop, want to go home, and suddenly he starts to jerk during the ride. As if something limited w It’s about 30 times, 40 times and then these symptoms come. When it comes to gas, it can also be that it makes them mute. Well, with about 30 to go home and immediately into the garage. Carburettor cleaned again, and candle checked. But it was everything i.o. (deer brown candle) Now I’ve already searched some forums, but all write you should check candle carburettor air filters. That’s exactly what I did and it seems all right. Is there anyone here familiar with the matter is u Is there anything to it? What about this CDI? Can they have a broken or shaky contact? Questions about questions…. I’m grateful for any help and every tip. Greeting Sven

  • Cylinders change at Benzhou YY50QT (City Star) at all possible?

Hey together, short history: My scooter started getting worse and worse, then changed (gear) oil, new spark plug, V-belts, air filter, petrol filter, Vario weights, even the carburetor I had replaced, but everything had helped nothing and got worse and worse until it came to the point that the kickstarter eventually stopped moving, really no more. Now that I was running out of a piston eater, I bought a complete set with new pistons, Bolts, rings, seals and cylinders. The package also came today, compared the cylinder optically before and then started to disassemble the scooter. When I was ready to pull off the cylinder, he refused and did not move a millimeter, I first tried to help with a rubber hammer and later went over to seam a screwdriver using the rubber hammer, but that also did nothing. I once took a photo of it. t, if the cylinder hadn’t had 2 screws next to the 4 that can be seen in the photo, I would swear the part is welded… You don’t even see where I tried to hit the screwdriver in.
