Heating
Moin, after finally the steering no longer knärzt (geil!), I probably have a new problem with my R. This morning I wanted to turn on the heater, turn the controller completely to the right, and the thing just jumps back again (so on 3 o’clock position). “Well, that’s already 80%”, I thought and never thought about it again, but out of the ventilation came (100km long) only cold air! CTR11510 had mentioned that this probably happened more often, but I didn’t realize how to get it back. Can someone just help me? Ciao Ralle

Presentation, I bought myself a smart
Hello forengemeinde, my name is Steffen and I’ve been with Motor-Talk for many years. I’ve mainly driven a Mercedes W202 from 1994 as a C280 Elegance. He has provided me with 12 years of loyal services. But now we’ve had rusty reasons. Since I have a daily journey of 2x 20Km alone with the car and wanted something economical, I bought a Smart. It shouldn’t be a Smart 450, which seems to get very big problems with the years. That’s why it would be a Smart 451. The car has EZ 11/2009, 71hp, is white, has 135,000 km on the clock and stands very well there. It has climate and a glass roof. I have tried it and I didn’t notice anything funny about it at first. I will allow it next week and then of course drive it with it. At the end of August I would like to give it to the workshop to check/change all liquids and have the car checked again in order to perform any repairs. What is special about this vehicle, so that I can give the workshop any greetings?

Price for a used CTR
Hello everyone, I’m just looking for a CTR and have now two offers where I just wanted to ask if they are good. 1.:EZ 05/04 15tkm New model, climate, fog., Seats from CTR 30th 2 summer driven €16.500,- 2.: EZ 01/05 12zkm Old model (!!) no climate € 15.500,- I already had a CTR two years ago and now I absolutely want to have another one, only I have to find out that the market is as empty as it was then. Again, with some dealers who for 3 years almost demand your new price because at some point a dip comes that thinks, “the Golf R32, Leon Cupra etc. is also expensive, so I have to put so much on the table for a CTR too”. Therefore, only private purchase comes into question for me. Would be grateful for a few opinions on the prices, I think they are fine. Greetings, Michael Cupra

Type R Tuning
Greetings, in the Type-R-Us country One question : I have the new Civic FK3 as a diesel with a chip on 175 hp. So runs like dirt. Since I have seen the pictures of the new Type R however, I became very curious, because not only the performance but also the optics and the handling are much more ingenious. But now I have 200 suction cup hp somehow too lean from the torque. I want to keep the engine simply net always at speed, in order to get some progress. My consideration therefore : Are there nameful tuners that provide the Type R with turbo or compressor? And : Are there experiences? The engine is the same as with the old Type R, therefore the corresponding tuning kit with a few changes would have to fit well. Rear brake drum
Hi I recently had the cheeks changed in the back. Now I want to change the housing also because it looks rusty. My mechanic wanted 50 euro, I found too much for 2 tyres down and a screw. I don’t know if I should change it myself just for a short time on the lifting platform. The handbrake makes already so 6 clicks that means that they just have to fit like that. Should only walk and handbrake out on the stage then the rear 2 tyres runs the one screw cross or what that is and then the 2 drums change. The screw and the mature on it and tighten with torque or? Do you think that’s so easy. Should I do this myself?

“Cut off” in case of small inspection (oil service plus)
The smarty of the holding woman was allowed here in KR at the local Benz/Smart Association for inspection. What was then on the invoice, reminded me of the recently seen documentation in the TV/Youtube about ripping off of the contract workshops: In short: invoice amount 320 EUR gross for oil service plus AT MITCHETEM ÖL! (for comparison: With Jaguar 4 weeks before for the small with self-made oil with 266 EUR (incl. costs rented!) in the bag. For the “automatic resetting of the parking brake have then also been checked times even 5 AW. Nen 15% discount on wage costs has been calculated brav into the plus, instead in the deduction of the sum. (Good that will be quickly corrected) Is such incompetence or abscicke actually the new stand type with Smart? (or possibly only with some unfit local contractual partners? How are your experiences or how do you see this?

Exhaust 451
Hello, my 451 from 2008 has been having a problem with an excessive exhaust as well as the almost permanently glowing engine control light (because of the Lamda probe) and a resulting restless running behavior. Since the puff became louder and louder now, I wanted to have a look over my workshop. A clever employee then also found the problem (probably for both problems), and indeed on a “under an additional sheet” on a connection to the exhaust almost all around torn / open connection high to the fixing of the Lamda probe before KAT. To save costs he has welded this place, deleted the error of the MKL … and look, the car accelerates and drives not only quite differently, it drives compared to before almost silently 🙂 and the MKL is also out. So the assumption is obvious, that the crack caused both. Until yesterday, then it went on again. My question to you: Can you get some well-preserved puffs and if yes, what cost these?
