Hello, I have a short question about the painting of my bumper and I hope you can help me. I recently had the bumper of my Alfa Giulietta repainted. The background was that I was disturbed by the pre-assembled plastic holder for the license plate, because I use a short mark and never really fitted it to the holder. When I picked up the car from the paintmaker (free workshop), I noticed that the bumper shimmers in the light somehow differently (pictures included). In my opinion, the paint was not hit properly. The paintmaker has a very good reputation and many years of experience. He used original Alfa paint and allegedly also took a sample from the door before to adjust the paint. After I brought the car back, he tells me that it is not possible to achieve a better result with this shade and that it is due to the difference Kunsstoff/Metal as well as to the grey tone. What do you think? The difference is especially noticeable from the side, frontal it goes.

Rust on the fender – what would you do?
Hello, I am proud owner of an old Golf V (BJ2005, 2 liters gasoline, 150 hp). I like the car very much. The leather seats are great, the old radio can be compensated with a Bluetooth receiver, the 150 hp even make a bit of fun and the slightly higher consumption plays with my annual kilometers (in the last two years on average 6,000km/year) only a minor role. So I would like to drive the vehicle still a few years. Unfortunately I have on both front fenders/swings rust spots, which do not go out of my mind. Therefore my questions to the community: 1. Can one estimate when the problem with the TÜV exists? The next is in September 2023 and I would like to pass the dates in 2025 and 2027 too…. 2. Are there here sensible “home remedies” to slow down the rust spread(!)? From WD-40 to rope fat I have read a lot of things. 3. Would it be easy to do something? I also read that way. In any case, the biggest problem seems to be that the vehicles of the car are rusty. They are supposed to be not so expensive at all, but the work is apparently not very much effort. I myself do not do anything and have no knowledge either, at the most I could do something if you would tell me what to do. In any case, you have to – as far as the front – get the engine out and then to be able to replace the vehicles. It should be easier in the back. From below it seems that I don’t have to do it from above. It was not described to me as being enormously much work or. Probably there is also worse in the world, but how much effort is it really read now? Because getting the engine out is not a problem, because I know enough people who can do it.
