  • TüV & repair strategy

My 2010 Golf VI, 1.2 TSI with 230k km loses (again) oil. Tüv is 10/2025, oil change and brake fluid is on. I wanted to avoid that car to be repaired expensively and then to get it still no more over the Tüv. Question: Does it make sense to drive now already to the Tüv to get told what has to be done? In the best case I get the plaque. The Tüv won’t scratch off the plaque prematurely because of the oil loss, will it? Or am I just too scared and should the car be repaired now incl. service and then relaxed in October drive to Tüv?

  • Product recommendation – Washing & polishing

Hello, there are already many Theards about it. But I didn’t really find one where certain products are recommended. I’m a small washing freak, drive at least once a week car cleaning. Since I soon get a new Peugeot 207 SW, I wanted to ask for good things. So for washing I have the product “Wash & Wax”, a nice sponge and for leathering keep leather lobes, but it starts already believing that this is not the best for it. Think there I need a new leather lobe and then I need a smart product for polishing and what to apply, so the complete package for polishing… best what about ATU, because it’s nearby=)… Maybe you can help me, I’d be happy…

  • Just in the news – Privatinsolvenzen 2010 lt. Bürgel

In 2010, the number of private insolvencies reached a new peak. With 139,110 cases in Germany (plus 6.4 per cent and 8.412 more cases compared to 2009), the bankruptcy statistics outperform even the previous record year 2007. Young German citizens are particularly affected. Although the statistical debt total for young adults is below the federal average, the number of creditors is higher than the average bankruptcy. according to which the 18 to 25-year-olds bring it to the highest surplus of all age groups of 27 percent compared to 2009. The average debt level for German citizens in private insolvency amounted to almost 33,000 euros in 2010. But the prospects for 2011 are still clouded: “Case figures are expected to be at the same high level as in 2010,” says Bürgel Managing Director Dr. Norbert Sellin. … Private insolvency is unemployment, permanent low income, failed self-employment, separation and divorce. Moreover, lack of experience in dealing with finances and banks, inappropriate consumption behaviour and decline in income are often statistically leading to the debt trap.

  • GSF600 Bandit (WVA8) Restorations thread

Since I have more and more questions about a GSF600 bandit that I’m just finishing, I thought I’d just open a collection thread here and shoot my question in here quickly and uncomplicatedly. Some questions may be a bit stupid, but these are “phenomenons” that I didn’t know about my Kawas and Suzuki. So let’s go. 1) The little one has about 11000km on it, since she has stood for a long time, I’ll take the valves with me. But I was irritated when I took off the right engine cover to get to the OT indicator, the oil ran counter to me. Is this normal with the bandit .. with my RF everything is dry under it. 2) What is the technical function of the vacuum “poti” on the carburetor? 3) Are parts of the 1200, same era, interchangeable with each other? Especially the tank or covering parts. 4) What exactly is the part with the 4 hoses? Is that the so-called pair system? (picture 2) 5) Are these original Suzuki crash pads? Were the original ones? Do others fit? (picture1) That’s it for now. Bandit will surely ask you the next thing I come with the project. Thank you

  • Speaking of windshield……

Hello, despite my concerns I have mounted a windshield to my Explorer Wallstreet !!! …and how feared I have now exactly the same negative experiences as I had to make at my Vespa 200 back then! With some speedy ride I have: * very strong wind noises on the helmet * strong shaking on the helmet * lateral, fast “walk movements” of the whole scooter, just as if you drive with unfavorable distance behind a fast truck !! * essential stronger “f “flatten” of the sleeves * “flatten” of the whole windshield, as only two fixing points through the windshield…. I will remove the windshield again and put it in the basement (as at Vespa)!!! Or is there a trick to bypass/minimize these aforementioned properties, or is there another windshield which does not behave like this by a special shaping ?? Have tried out 3 mounting options: * “normally steep” with wind hatch below/behind the windshield , * “normally steep” without wind hatch below/behind the disc, (relatively dense, as good as possible) * relatively oblique, (current line shape) with wind hatch below/behind the disc, (without wind hatch it doesn’t work at “oblique”) …and no mounting method brought any improvement !! Does anyone have other, positive experiences, or does anyone know tricks to set off these annoying properties ?? (…because of the “flattening” of the disc these maybe with a small stainless steel angle still at the lampv screw up the clothes so that the disc has 3 fixing points !! ??? ….but that looks “murky” again !! ???) • Temperature controlled cooling water fans

Hello I would like to install 2 fans to cool the cooling water. The first should turn on from 50 degrees temperature and the second should turn on from 85 degrees or by switch. Very nice it would be if both could run backwards, if the motor is switched off until the water reaches xx degrees or the battery has 12 volts. Can this be so and if so how or there is something better. Maybe an electronician here who has made such a circuit before ?? Am open for each proposal

  • My 66s Catalina! Pictures, worries, greetings to Norske!

After according to “Norske” the forum community was really annoying with my search, here the “feet piece”. 1966 Catalina 4-Door Hardtop. Pictures say the rest. Unfortunately, I had to notice unpleasant things yesterday: In addition to the cooling water filling cover a small hose goes down, probably to regulate overpressures, from this came liquid yesterday with whitish foam. Guess of me, since here in the forums already written, cylinder head seal defective. Is that so right? If the gasket is defective, then you can still drive, or you have to repair it immediately. I’ve had the problem for a long time that I lost cooling water, but I didn’t see where! Temperature problems I had the last time too. Can it be that I broke the gasket? So again many questions, I hope someone can help me. Greetings vodkaa

  • Show me your lights!

So with the most beautiful I find at US Car ́s the sound and the all around lighting, therefore I have set times 2 photos. Would also like to see your lighting. The nice is that my orange standlight is registered 🙂 When blinking the inner standlight alternates with the outer blinker, looks really great in the dark, not to mention the rear red turn signals.
